World Brain Day - 22 July 2025

Advocating for brain health, early intervention, and connection.
World Brain Day is a global campaign to raise awareness of brain health and neurological conditions. This year is a reminder that timely, tailored support can change lives — and that’s what cann exists to provide.
We support people with neurological conditions across Aotearoa New Zealand through personalised allied health services. Help us raise awareness by sharing our work or telling your story. Together, we can bridge the gap between diagnosis and meaningful care.
World Polio Day 2025

World Polio Day is a global day of action led by Rotary International and partners to raise awareness of the fight to end poliomyelitis (polio) worldwide. While many countries — including New Zealand — have long been polio-free thanks to vaccination, the legacy of the disease lives on in those still managing its late effects today.
At cann, we’re proud to support people living with the late effects of polio through specialist assessments, rehabilitation, and equipment funding. This World Polio Day, we join Rotary and health organisations around the world in recognising the progress made — and the people still impacted.
If you or your community group are planning an event to mark World Polio Day, let us know! We’d love to highlight local initiatives and share them on our site.

Celebrating the power of movement.

World Physiotherapy Day honours the global impact of physiotherapy in improving quality of life. At cann, neurophysiotherapists are at the heart of our model — supporting people with neurological conditions to move better, manage fatigue, and maintain independence.
Join us in recognising the contribution of the clinicians in our Clinical Allied Neurological Network across Aotearoa New Zealand. Know a great physio? Tag them or share your story on social media with #WorldPhysioDay and #cannsupport.
International Ataxia Awareness Day

Shining a light on inherited ataxias.
cann proudly supports people with Friedreich’s ataxia, spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA), and other inherited ataxias — conditions that affect coordination, mobility, and everyday life.
On this International Ataxia Awareness Day, we acknowledge the strength of those affected and the importance of early access to expert care. Through our partnership with the Neurogenetics Research Clinic, we’re helping connect research to real-world rehabilitation.
Know someone living with ataxia? Share this to help others find support and specialist care.
