From 1 August 2025, the Duncan Foundation becomes CANN Charitable Trust.

While our name and look are changing, our purpose remains the same: delivering expert care, trusted guidance, and practical tools to help people physically impacted by neurological conditions live better, longer.

Why the change?

Since our establishment in 2017, the Duncan Foundation has grown into a national network of clinicians and clinics dedicated to improving quality of life for people with specific neurological conditions. As our services expanded and partnerships strengthened, it became clear that our name needed to evolve too — to better reflect who we are, what we do, and how we work.

The new name, CANN Charitable Trust, represents the growth of our Clinical Allied Neurological Network and captures the essence of our model:

  • A clinical network of allied health professionals
  • Focused on neurological conditions
  • Dedicated to collaboration, education, and service delivery across Aotearoa New Zealand

CANN also allows us to speak more clearly to clinicians, funders, and the wider health system — while staying grounded in our commitment to individuals and their whānau.

What’s staying the same?

Everything that matters.

  • Our condition-specific support services
  • Our national network of Allied Clinicians
  • Our personalised C.O.R.E. Packages of care
  • Our ongoing advocacy for high-quality neurological support in New Zealand

We remain proudly supported by the Sir Thomas and Lady Duncan Trust and deeply connected to the legacy on which we were founded.

Whether you knew us as the Duncan Foundation or are just discovering CANN — we’re glad you’re here.
